Keith D. Strand, RA
Keith Strand is a Registered Architect with an active license and practice in New York State. He received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from University of Colorado, Boulder and a Masters of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute.
Mr. Strand grew up in Colorado and moved to New York City as a Vista Volunteer assigned to a non-profit housing group in the South Bronx. He was an Associate Partner with Leonard Colchamiro P.C., AIA prior to establishing his own firm. As Associate Partner he was the Project Architect on the following types of projects: loft conversion, custom home, mixed-use building, corporate interior. In 1988, he established his own firm which has undertaken the design, construction documentation, and construction administration of a broad range of projects, including: total renovation of SRO into a 72 room boutique hotel, conversion/enlargement of loft buildings to mixed use, custom homes, high-end apartment renovation/enlargements, corporate interiors, and historic restorations.
Mr. Strand taught design and construction methodology courses for eight years at Pratt Institute and The New York School of Interior Design. He has been published and cited in Vacant Lots (Princeton Architectural Press) and exhibited in The Bronx Museum of Art. He received The Clinton Hill Society Preservation Award in 2002.
